Bunwise is a personal planning tool. It is not financial, investment, tax, insurance, or legal advice. Scores, burger layers, timelines, and scenario results are estimates based on numbers you enter and modelling assumptions. Do not make a life or money decision solely because of something shown in the app.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and the operator of Bunwise (“Bunwise”, “we”, “us”, “our”). They govern your use of:
- the Bunwise mobile applications for Android and iOS (the “App”)
- this website at bunwise.bapps.uk and related pages (the “Website”)
- widgets, documentation, and other features we make available with the App or Website (together with the App and Website, the “Services”)
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Services, creating an in-app purchase, or tapping “agree” where we present these Terms, you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
These Terms should be read with our Privacy Policy. If you buy Bunwise Plus through Apple or Google, the store’s terms also apply to billing.
2. Who we are
Bunwise is published under the Bapps developer identity (application identifiers in the form
uk.bapps.bunwise).
The Website is hosted at bunwise.bapps.uk.
Questions about these Terms: [email protected].
3. The Services
Bunwise helps you visualise financial runway and safety using information you enter, including:
- a three-layer “burger” model (essentials, current lifestyle, and longer-term freedom)
- a safety score and related “safety days” / runway figures
- life-decision scenarios, stress tests, and (where available) a multi-year timeline
- optional home-screen or lock-screen widgets
Core calculations run on your device. We do not operate a cloud account for your financial numbers, and you do not need to create a Bunwise login to use the App.
Features, limits, and availability can differ between Android and iOS, and between free and paid versions. We may add, change, or remove features.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Services only with a parent or guardian’s permission, and they are responsible for your use.
You must have the legal capacity to enter a contract. If you use the Services on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it to these Terms.
5. Your data stays on your device
Financial figures you enter are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the App typically deletes that data. We do not host a copy of your income, expenses, assets, or debts that you can recover from us.
You are responsible for keeping your device secure, using a lock screen, and making any backups you want (for example through your device or store backup tools). If you lose the device or the App data, we cannot restore your numbers.
6. Licence to use the Services
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, and to use the Website, solely for your own non-commercial personal planning, in line with these Terms and store rules.
You do not acquire ownership of the Services, our name, logos, copy, visual design, calculation models, or other intellectual property. All rights we do not expressly grant are reserved.
7. Free features and Bunwise Plus
A free version of the App is available. Free use currently includes the core check-up and results. Some capabilities are limited or reserved for Bunwise Plus (“Plus”), which may include, depending on platform and version:
- additional or unlimited decision simulations, saved scenarios, and combined events
- scenario comparison and a shareable decision report
- a longer timeline horizon (including a 30-year view) and additional stress tests
- full history, monthly attribution, advanced planning assumptions, and custom goals
- additional widgets and Plus-only notifications
- an ad-free experience in versions of the App that show ads
We may change which features are free or paid. We will not take away a result you have already generated solely because a later version reclassifies a feature, but future access to gated tools may require an active Plus entitlement.
8. Purchases, subscriptions, and lifetime unlock
Plus may be offered as:
- Bunwise Plus Monthly — auto-renewing subscription billed every month
- Bunwise Plus Yearly — auto-renewing subscription billed every year, which may include an introductory free trial where offered
- Bunwise Lifetime — a one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks Plus features then available, and does not auto-renew
Payment is processed by Apple (App Store / StoreKit) or Google (Google Play Billing), not by us. We do not receive your full payment card details. The price, currency, tax, and any trial shown in the store or in the App at checkout is the price that applies. Prices can differ by country and may change for future billing periods.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your store account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. After a free trial, paid renewal begins unless you cancel in time.
How to cancel. Manage or cancel in the store account that you used to buy:
- Apple: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or the App Store account subscriptions page
- Google: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Plus until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
Trials. A free trial (if offered, currently a 7-day introductory period on yearly Plus where you are eligible) is available once per Apple ID or Google account as determined by the store. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the paid subscription starts.
Lifetime. Lifetime is a one-time unlock for the Apple ID or Google account that purchased it. It is not family-shareable unless a store listing later says otherwise. It does not automatically transfer between iOS and Android. “Lifetime” means for as long as we continue to offer the Services and that account can restore the purchase — not a guarantee that every current Plus feature will exist forever.
Restore purchases. Use Restore Purchases in the App (or the store’s restore flow) on a device signed into the same Apple ID or Google account.
Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Request a refund through the App Store or Google Play. We cannot issue a store refund ourselves. Nothing in this section limits a mandatory statutory right you have as a consumer.
9. Not advice — important disclaimer
The Services are for education and personal organisation only. They do not:
- recommend that you quit a job, buy property, have a child, start a business, borrow, invest, or take any other action
- assess your full tax, pension, insurance, immigration, employment, or legal position
- constitute a personal recommendation, a regulated financial promotion, or advice from a financial adviser, accountant, or lawyer
If you need advice, speak to a suitably qualified professional who can consider your circumstances. You remain solely responsible for decisions you make.
10. Calculations, assumptions, and no guarantee of outcomes
Outputs depend on the completeness and accuracy of what you enter, and on modelling choices (including default rates, inflation, growth, safe-withdrawal style assumptions, and simplified cash-flow logic). Real life includes taxes, fees, interest-rate changes, market moves, illness, job loss, and other events the App may omit or simplify.
Results are illustrations, not forecasts or promises. Past or sample figures shown on the Website are examples only. We do not warrant that any score, runway, timeline, or scenario result is complete, current, or suitable for your situation.
You should not rely on the Services as the sole basis for a material financial or life decision.
11. Your responsibilities
- Enter information that is as accurate as you can reasonably make it, and update it when your situation changes.
- Keep your device, Apple ID, and Google account secure. Anyone with access to your unlocked device may see your numbers.
- Use the Services only for lawful, personal planning purposes.
- Comply with Apple’s and Google’s terms for the App and in-app purchases.
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, disrupt, or overload the Services, or bypass feature gates, trials, or payment.
12. Acceptable use
You must not:
- copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense the Services except as allowed by law or a written licence from us
- use the Services to provide commercial advice to third parties as if they were a professional tool you are licensed to resell
- misrepresent App outputs as certified, audited, or guaranteed results
- interfere with other users, our infrastructure, or store review processes (including fake reviews or fraudulent refunds)
- use the Services in any way that is illegal, harmful, or infringes someone else’s rights
13. Intellectual property
Bunwise, the burger mark, the three-burger system presentation, Website and App design, text, graphics, and software are owned by us or our licensors. You may not use our names or marks without permission, except to refer accurately to the App.
Feedback you send us (ideas, bug reports, translations) may be used to improve the Services without obligation to you.
14. Third-party services
The Services may rely on third parties, including Apple, Google, Cloudflare, and (in some App versions) advertising or crash-reporting providers. Their terms and privacy notices apply to their processing.
Links on the Website or in the App are for convenience. We are not responsible for third-party sites or stores.
15. Advertising
Some free versions of the App may show ads. Plus may remove those ads where they are shown. We do not sell your financial figures to advertisers. Ads, if present, are served by third-party networks under their own policies. Website marketing copy that says a given version has no ads describes that version, not a permanent promise for every future build.
16. Availability, support, and changes
We aim to keep the Services available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Stores, operating systems, widgets, and device settings can affect whether a feature works.
We may update the App, change calculations, retire features, or stop offering the Services. If we discontinue the Services entirely, unused prepaid subscription time may be subject to the store’s refund rules; we will not be obliged to provide a substitute product.
17. Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time by uninstalling the App and cancelling any subscription in the store. We may suspend or end access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we shut down the Services.
Sections that by nature should survive (including disclaimers, liability limits, IP, and governing law) survive termination.
18. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Services will meet your needs, that calculations are error-free, or that widgets or notifications will always refresh.
19. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost opportunity, or business interruption, arising from the Services or these Terms, even if we have been advised of the possibility.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Plus in the 12 months before the claim (through Apple or Google, as recorded by the store) and (b) £50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
20. Indemnity
You will indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the Services or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our own unlawful conduct. This does not require you to indemnify us where prohibited by consumer law.
21. Consumer rights
If you are a consumer, you have rights under the laws of your country of residence that these Terms cannot take away. In the United Kingdom this includes rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and, where relevant, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Digital content must be as described and of satisfactory quality. Store refund and cancellation rules may also apply to in-app purchases.
22. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. For material changes we may also notify you in the App or on the Website. Continued use after the updated Terms take effect means you accept them, except where the law requires your explicit consent.
If you do not agree to an update, stop using the Services and cancel any subscription.
23. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
If you are a consumer, you may also bring a claim in the courts of your place of residence, and you keep any mandatory protections of that country’s law. If you are using the Services other than as a consumer, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
24. General
If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the Services, and replace prior terms on the same subject. You may not assign your rights without our consent; we may assign ours in connection with a reorganisation or sale. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms, but they and their subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the licence restrictions that protect the App on their platforms, to the extent required by their developer agreements.
25. Contact
For these Terms, billing questions we can actually help with (we cannot process store refunds), or the Services generally:
Email: [email protected]
Privacy questions: see the Privacy Policy.
In plain English
Use Bunwise to think more clearly about your runway. Your numbers stay on your phone. Plus is billed by Apple or Google and auto-renews until you cancel in the store. The burgers and scores are planning illustrations, not a green light to quit, buy, or bet the house. If something here conflicts with a right the law gives you as a consumer, the law wins.
